Weekend Action
Premier Division - Brackley Town, three up at the interval, took another giant step towards the championship with a resounding 4-0 home win which sent Swindon Supermarine back into the relegation places while Oxford City, the only club still able to take the title, slipped to fourth when, despite taking a sixth minute lead, they could only draw 1-1 at Redditch United, a result which leaves the home side just two points above the drop zone. Meanwhile AFC Totton, two goals ahead at the interval, scored four in the second half to complete a 6-0 home win over Arlesey Town and Cambridge City scored three after the break to win 3-0 at home and leave Weymouth just one place and two points off the relegation places but Chesham United dropped to fifth when Barwell scored a goal in each half to record a 2-0 home win. Stourbridge kept their play-off hopes alive when they won 2-1 at Chippenham Town, who have now gone eleven games since their last victory, and Leamington, two ahead at the break, also kept themselves just in contention with a 3-1 home win over relegation threatened Hemel Hempstead Town while St Albans City scored twice in the first half to win 2-0 at already relegated Cirencester Town. Frome Town were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Bedford Town but Hitchin Town went down 2-1 at home to Banbury United who moved out of the relegation zone while Evesham United failed to climb out of danger when they drew 0-0 at Bashley.
