This week's quiz question

Following on from Ade's (Studley's!!) quiz question, try this none.

You are the Ref and while walking on the field, you notice that you have dropped your whistle. Panicking, you stop the game and ask for help from the coaches. They are upset, but offer to help you look for your whistle. A minute later, with all the players searching, they can't find it anywhere. A fan from team B has a megaphone, and offers that instead. What do you do?

a) Keep searching until you find it. The referee needs a whistle!
b) Take it. There's nowhere within the Laws that says that a whistle must be used
c) Declare the game to be over. It would be unfair to both teams to ref without a whistle and looking for it would take too long.
d) Talk to the coaches to see if they mind you just not calling anything

That's a noodlescratcher!
B seems the most ideal... but a megaphone would be a great idea! the fans could hear then, like in rugby!

b hahaha/ but does the mega phone have batteries?

In reality, the referee should have spares, but the most sensible option would be to borrow the megaphone and continue with the game.
