Martin Allen replaces Carl Heggs
Martin Allen has taken the Notts County post less than a month into his manager's role at Barnet

Re: Martin Allen replaces Carl Heggs
Mr Swan should get on the phone to him. Would do a good job for us next season IMO. Knows the club, good contacts across the Midlands and would have probably got Kings Lynn up had they not gone bust.
On this subject are there any other obvious candidates to take us forward next season? It seems to be the general concensus that Mr Redhead isn't really the man for the job. Westy is the only other person that springs to mind, has done a great job at Evesham this season.

Re: Martin Allen replaces Carl Heggs
Heggs isn't for me. Twice promised the club he'd stay and twice left. Arrogant and ignorant to the very fans that paid his wages. Insulted players verbally when they couldn't make an away game due to work commitments.
Westy would be an interesting choice. I'm sure the club will be inundated with applications should the job become available.Last time the bosses job was vacant Ken was against putting ex football league players in charge.. ( a couple applied last time)...I think this time ( should it arise) there will be alot more....
Thoughts? Big name manager or non league guru?

Agree. Heggs isn't the man for the job. Would walk out for sure if some-one offered him £10 more to manage another club. Westy is an intersting candidate, but would he leave Evesham??. Mind you come the end of the season there will quite a few mangers in position for the job. But Heggs isn't one of them.

Re: Martin Allen replaces Carl Heggs
Why did Kings Lynn go bust?
Anyone who will take the team forward on the pitch will do for me.
A good team gets people down, a good performance keeps people down!
So what happens on the pitch makes up at least 70% of "customer satisfaction" the other 30% is off the pitch with atmosphere, bar etc...
Really hope we canget 5-600 weekly next season!

Re: Martin Allen replaces Carl Heggs
I know it goes against the general concensus but I would be disappointed if Redhead didnt get a chance to carry on, he deserves a chance when we will hopefully be on a relativley even keel with others budget wise next year.
Re: Martin Allen replaces Carl Heggs
Redhead was there when we needed help and in a very different situation, but now things are different is he the man to take us forward?.well we seem to be going backwards from when he started and I don't think he can actually bring anyone in, why play 4-4-1-1? what's that about? at the start of the season it was hoof ball to smith with no one playing off him and we lost games, now we are returning to this tactic and we're losing again badly.
There was no leadership from him whilst he was on the pitch and at 3-0 down would have expected him to be vocal within defence,he's a great bloke but i'd like to see someone who can deliver and bring in players and im afraid Redhead is not this man.
We have a new start here and we should use this new start to get it right for the greater good and longevity of the club, we need to build a team that is strong and competitive and I believe Chris and his Team will deliver this.
IMO Redhead does not fit that bill, this is based on head and not heart.

Re: Martin Allen replaces Carl Heggs
You are right Jeff. Redders was part of the old regime. What I'm concerned about is we are still fielding 14 players and he is still having to play. Players although not getting paid want to play at this level. It's his job to get them in..at the minute he isn't doing it.If he goes then I'm sure he'll consider himself a bit unlucky, but as I said.....it was Ken's appointment, and if the board want a different guy in..that's what will happen. They won't be short of choices.
To be fair to Redders JBS he hasn't whinged on about no budget, he's just got on with it. He was the right man at the right time when he was appointed. It is so different now though.

I don't know. But he is not adverse to managing non league sides is he? Take Kettering for example.

Kettering are a circus, run by a chairman who will do anything to get his name in print!
The club needs somebody experienced and well connected at this level of football. Ex Premier League managers will contribute little more than publicity. As an example, Brian Little is hardly doing a good job at Gainsborough!

Re: Martin Allen replaces Carl Heggs
I agree that Redders has done a sterling job but is not the man IMO to take us forward! We need an experienced man to do so, Westy would be a great choice but as I have said before he is leading Evesham (beat Sailsbury 3-0 away on Sat and they are a full time side!) into a new chapter of there history next season when they move to the new ground back in Evesham.
Centiment does not come into the decision, the club needs to hit the ground running next season and with the new investment it is based on getting people through the gate and a winning side is key. I think a new management team who can bring in the sort of players to compete at Zam Premier is required, the standard is not that far away from BSN so it is a challenge

Agree. Now is the time to get some one in who can take us forward.

Re: Martin Allen replaces Carl Heggs
Westy would love to manage his home town club in the right circumstances...
Heggs wouldn't last 5 minutes with Chris...a winner, but too arrogant.....OK at a larger club, but not at the Reds.
I would like to see Graham Hyde with John Snape as coach.

look within the club?????? been thinking hard bout this! got it down to a few me, mark, chris, or sallie ( ruled the bar staff out of it) i've not even been to warwick for 2 yrs then only drove through. so do agree think sallie would do a great job and not be afraid of the chairman
