Heard a little titbit that Mr. Sammons is looking to come back!. Can anyone put any meat onto this juicy bone?

Re: Ash Sammons
That's an interesting titbit. He seems to be getting plenty of games at Corby (although he has been subbed a few times recently), and he looks good enough to carry on playing at that level, so I'd be surprised if he wants to come back (unless winning in the Evo-Stick is more fun than losing in the Nationals).
Re: Ash Sammons
I didn't see him, but apparently he was at the game last night. If that's the reason for the rumour, then it means nothing. He is too good for this level of football.... and maybe too good for Corby in the Conference North. He should at the least be aiming for the Conference National.
If true, it could only be for personal reasons / convenience. And he'd expect a decent wedge in return!! Could we even afford him? Probably not. That said, put him back into our current lineup and we'd be contenders for the title! Osbourne and Sammons in the same team would be great to watch!

Re: Ash Sammons
Quotes from Corby manager :
"Ash Sammons may never play for this football club again. He has held conversations with his former club behind my back. That's an illegal approach and I'm not happy with that but he's an asset and we will deal with it internally and move on."

Re: Ash Sammons
He is one of the best players we've had at the Reds in recent years, and arguably, the best.
You have to go back ten years for the last time that we had high quality midfielders, the likes of Taylor, Myers & Flynn. And they were all heading towards the end of their careers. Sammons is younger and is only going to get better.
No doubt there will be money issues. Wages, a transfer fee and a fine maybe? But if a quality player wants to come to us, then lets make it happen!! We are really, really close to having a quality side. The 'spine' of the team looks strong. Sammons and Osbourne together in midfield would be a great combination. And he can be a bit inconsistent, but on Saturday, George Carline showed that he can be a quality player.
We are really close to having a first choice eleven that can compete for promotion. A lack of squad depth is probably going to be our biggest challenge. With a little bit of luck and some good fortune, then we'll continue to do well this season....

"Meanwhile, McDonald added he was very hopeful of bringing an attacking midfielder to the Valley Stadium who he believes could form “some great partnerships” with the existing players.
“Obviously losing Jamey (Osborne) is a setback so we could do with some help in that area,” added McDonald. “If we can get this deal done then it would be a big boost at an important stage of the season.” "

And yes, on Tuesday night, the lads were absolutely fantastic!!!!

Re: Ash Sammons
If we add him back to the squad, then I see no reason why we couldn't put up a genuine title challenge - particularly with Maye to come back before Christmas.

Re: Ash Sammons
....starting on the bench again....Why!!?
Perhaps he has not been as effective as he was at this same time last year...but still.....I'm struggling to see why Liam (1) starts him as a sub and (2) when he does bring him on, leaves it as late as possible?
