Joe Hull signs for Hinckley

All the best to him, he stayed loyal when no one else did!
It also means that no players are in the squad that were here at the start of the season!
i'd love to know how many players we've used since Pre-season!

I make it that 84 players have featured in a match day squad in a competitive fixture for us this season...
Re: Joe Hull signs for Hinckley
What are your opinions on him? I saw him both times last season and thought he looked like a good player, but you've seen him more

Top bloke, loyal, comitted, always the first to clap the fans, puts 100% in every game, sometimes clumsy but you can expect that from a 19 year old center back!
He put his body on the line on numerous occaisions, breaking collar bones and things.
Massive loss for us

Spot on. Great guy, with a lovely mom and dad. Never gave up and even when we were 4 down one game with a minute left he was clenching his fists and encouraging players not to give up.
Get him next to an experienced centre half and you can't go wrong.
TRUST player of the year, terrace favourite, we'll miss him next season.
GUTTED!!!!

Re: Joe Hull signs for Hinckley
I don't mean to be rude or show ignorance, but.... Joe who?
In the season just gone…..apart from the distinct lack of wins, goals and the almost complete absence of clean sheets, entertainment etc….the other major reason why I didn’t enjoy coming to games was that I didn’t know the names of the lads that I was cheering on. Honestly, I’d struggle to name more than a handful of players from last season. For me, that was a problem. 7-8 years ago, I could reasonable predict our starting XI. Last season, I'd sooner have taken my chances on the national lottery.
In our promotion season, and in the seasons building up to it, no matter where I was in the ground (at home or away), come the 88th minute, I would find myself trekking towards the players exit/tunnel…..and there were plenty more doing the same. The players would throw their fists in the air and raise a palm for a high five after a win! Even with a loss, there would normally be a mutual & respectful exchange of applause. It was always one big ‘love-in’!!
That show of camaraderie (between the fans and the players) has kind of been lost on me ever since in all honesty.
It will take time for Mr Socket and Mr Swan to build a team. Personally, I think that the rather clichéd ‘5 year plan’ is wildly optimistic; it's too much & too soon. What I really want to see is a team being built up from honest, hardworking players that we can retain. Next season, whether promotion chasing or not, I'd like to know the names of the players that I'm paying to watch.

Re: Joe Hull signs for Hinckley
Joe Hull came to us after the pre-season with Kidderminster, he is the only player to have stayed the whole season, even when we were getting twatted week in week out, the wage budget cut, flooded dressing room and the lot, he stayed with us when every single player left.
Perhaps if you came down to some more games last season you'd understand
Also during the promotion season, although i had nothing to do with the club at that time, i'm sure emotions were high on and off the pitch.
Also there must have been a decent wage budget... im sure if the players had been payed alot this season you could name the squad.
Other than that, i agree with you!

Fair play, you've got me there! Although ironically, I came to enough games to recall the names of certain players that had a completely shite attitude!!
Of course, we 'had more money' & more I.O.U’s back then! But under Rod Brown, we also had an astonishingly high turnover of players and mercenaries under his leadership. Many came and went, and despite his poor judgement, the club still maintained a consistent backbone of players that many of us still remember fondly.
It’s certainly not simply a case of how much money you can pay the players; although they does help of course!!! I'm not knocking Joe, merely commenting on the benefits of a settled team in general!

Re: Joe Hull signs for Hinckley
Ofcourse having a settled side is a million times better than the revolving door policy.
I'd love to be able to watch a game without a team sheet and know who players are...
Hopefully next season Martin and everyone else can secure a concistant, mixture of old heads and youth and respectable side!
Oh, and get us straight back into the Blue Square North;)
