Free Admission
Saw this on the Non League Forum...
http://wsmfc2006.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1404
I don't think there are rules for the league regarding admission prices.
The thing is, if we tried it, would it work? We'd probably get over 1,000 but when you're giving tickets away, you'd expect close on to a sellout!
Then we'd have to win the game to bring some of them back.
Maybe for the last game of the season? Push it alot, sell golden goal (Ade, stitched right up by fenners) make money from the shop, kitchen, bar, cards etc!
Seeing how full the bar was on a tuesday night was amazing!! And i don't think many moor green fans would have stayed for a drink
Great potential there... Thoughts?

Re: Free Admission
I think it’s a good idea, with the lost revenue from the turnstiles being replaced with sales in the bar, programmes etc. Are there any plans to reopen our own kitchen to raise income?
I wouldn’t do it this season though. If we get 1000 people in, we need to do it when we have a team enjoying some good form and playing well. We need people to be impressed enough to want to come back. Also, such a promotion should be used to create some momentum for the club, something that would be lost if the club did it just before the end of the season.

Re: Free Admission
I dont think there is much point in doing it this season any increased intrest you may get as a result stands a risk of diminishing over the summer; Do it the first saturday home game next year when it will hopefully be a nice warm August day with a chance to build some real momentum on and off the pitch.
Re: Free Admission
Another option is "pay what you want to pay", so each person pays whatever amount they wish, on entry.

It was open last night! And the burger van wasn't there either
I'm not sure how well it did... there was a queue at half time so that can't be bad!
First home game of next season sounds good!
We shall see!

I couldn't make it last night. I hope the quality has improved! I'll have to buy a burger and chips on saturday to find out!

Re: Free Admission
I wasn't stitched up by Fenners at all.
He walked up to me and shoved a tin of Quality Streets in my chest. Of course I'm going to take it.
Only after I'd failed to find those long yellow toffee ones did I realize it only contained bits of screwed up paper.
Me n Arsene OWNED that golden goal...who else can shout out ' get your jelled eels here' and still sell 80!!!!

This has been done by several clubs, higher up the Football Ladder, most noticably was Mansfiled Town who attracted a bumper crowd of over 8,000 .
Would be interested to see what sort of reaction this would generate down at the Valley

Re: Free Admission
Speaking of raising funds for the club, how about charging £1 to use the toilet
With the sucess of the bar sales, just think of the potential.
