Another win, keep this up and the play offs will be a minimum target at the end of the season.

Another top result....well done Graham & the lads.
What is the 'safe' mark in this league? 40pts seems to be the average? Striker/Fingers?

Re: Bedford result
It's hard to tell where the safety mark lies in such a competitive league - last couple of seasons has seen teams with 34 and 37 points staying up, but many teams have gone down with 42 prior to that.
I think it will come slightly higher than it has the last two years, closer to, maybe above 42.
Most teams in the relegation zones of various leagues tend to be below a point a game at this time of year and push on to a higher average by the end of the season when they beat midtable teams with nothing to play for, but Evesham, currently filling the final relegation place, have a point per game (20 from 20).
Filling relegation places in this league doesn't always mean you go down though - it's been 7 years since 4 teams dropped out of the Southern Premier, though with one drop out last year, all three 'relegated' teams dropped for the first time since then.
Besides, Redditch are too hard to beat to go down for me - they'll have a poor run somewhere, but they'll be fine from what I've seen of the Southern Prem this year.

Re: Bedford result
Actually not our first league double of the season, that came against Hemel Hempstead. Fingers confirmed when we last achieved that feat in the relevant thread, but I can't be arsed to find it.in2thevalley wrote:First time we have done the double over a team. Fingers, any chance of confirming when we last won 3 consecutive league matches away from home? I'm guessing the title-winning season.

Re: Bedford result
Surprisingly not mate - in 2006-7, the year we looked cast adrift but had the run in the Trophy, we won three in a row on the road in that 12 match unbeaten run after Heggs was bought in from Hinckley.
10th March 2007 - Lancaster City A W2-1
24th March 2007 - Blyth Spartans A W2-1
27th March 2007 - Worksop Town A W3-2

Re: Bedford result
Oh yes, the season that Lancaster and Scarborough had points deductions; also remember the 0-0 draw at Alfreton on the penultimate Saturday, and the slowly-dawning realisation in the car with Arsene and Toffeeman on the way home that we were safe as Leigh and Worksop would play each other on the final day and only one of them (Leigh, as it happened) could overtake us, but not both.fingers wrote:Surprisingly not mate - in 2006-7, the year we looked cast adrift but had the run in the Trophy, we won three in a row on the road in that 12 match unbeaten run after Heggs was bought in from Hinckley.

Good attempt Sam but Stats wise you are on a losing wicket with Fingers and Ted on here!
Talking of batting on losing wickets..Mrs Moor is winning that one with his continuos insisitance that Hydey doesn't know what he's doing.

Re: Bedford result
16 points away from the top of the league! The next 3 games could be quite important to our season!
