Waterlogged pitch
Hows the pitch looking up there? Much chance of it being cancelled?

Re: Waterlogged pitch
The club asked for people to help fork it today, it probably still has pools of water on it, it doesn't drain too well...I'd say 50/50

Re: Waterlogged pitch
just play the damn thing....hardly going to damage the pitch.
Neither team has nothing to play for so what the hell?
I can see it now...all the Muff fans arrive and game cancelled at 2pm due to Elf & Safety...

Re: Waterlogged pitch
In general, it's too easy to blame the 'elf and safety brigade. In my opinion, it's the lawyers and compensation culture UK that is really to blame. H&S has simply gone over the top in response to the constant and real threat of litigation.
I don't disagree with you, it would be good to get the game played. Without seeing the pitch, I doubt that 15 years ago it would even be an issue. But times change.
It's down to the ref. But with the burden of responsibility on their shoulders, it's not really surprising that refs err on the side of caution.

Re: Waterlogged pitch
There must be a cut off point when the ref has to make a decision on the state of the pitch, so as the club can
inform the opposition about travelling, surely ?

Well, it's still raining so it must be in real doubt unfortunately. Even if it's OK now, it looks like it is going to rain all day.

Ah Tommo Senior! Welcome mate.
A few of us are meeting up in the queens about 1pm to have a few before moving on to the clubhouse if you fancy it?
I don't get to go out much at the moment so I hope the game is on to bring a ceremonial end to the season
And for Alf
