Kettering gone?
3 short years since they beat us and went on to play Leeds in the FA Cup.
Another lesson......a very hard one for all Poppies fans...
Reminds us how lucky we are to still have a club to moan about...and how important it was to keep our club alive.

Re: Kettering gone?
First hurdle for the survival of the company is Monday, the deadline for a £3,000 bill to be paid or the club will be wound up according to the Northamptonshire Telegraph.
Re: Kettering gone?
As of Tuesday, the same newspaper reports that the £3k (an overdue instalment of their CVA) was not paid. Surely the end...fingers wrote:First hurdle for the survival of the company is Monday, the deadline for a £3,000 bill to be paid or the club will be wound up according to the Northamptonshire Telegraph.

Re: Kettering gone?
Kettering have no future and it should just be taken now and let them start again. Nene Park was the end of their club.
Re: Kettering gone?
I certainly don't see how they can survive if they fail to fulfil their next fixture. In 40 odd years of following league and non league football I have never known a club fail to fulfil 3 fixtures (which they have now done) let alone 4.
All we need to do is to make damn sure we don't occupy the solitary relegation spot this year !

The Northants Telegraph is, not surprisingly, all over this like a case of the clap. They report today that the Southern League will hold an emergency board meeting tomorrow to discuss the situation. Furthermore, the club now has just five registered players, and remains embargoed from signing any more.

Latest from the same august publication: Kettering's match with St Neots on Saturday has been postponed, and KTFC have been given one week to prove that they can still operate as a football club. Quite how they're supposed to achieve that while their games are being postponed, I'm not sure.

Quite how this is eing allowed to carry on is baffling but then again it is the FA
Not enlighten players left or registered to play and they have a transfer embargo, no electricity and there still seems hope!

Kettering Town have been given seven days to convince the Southern League they can still operate.
The league held an emergency board meeting this afternoon with the Poppies’ majority share holder Imraan Ladak in attendance.
And the outcome was a short statement which read: “Kettering Town’s League match on Saturday with St Neots Town is postponed.
“The Club has been given a deadline of 31st October to satisfy certain conditions placed on them by the League.
“There will no further comments until 31st October from the League.”

Re: Kettering gone?
Kettering have survived - for now. The league have released a statement, saying that the club has met the conditions placed on it last week, and the transfer embargo has been lifted. Don't know what those conditions were, but I suspect they may have included the posting of a bond similar to that imposed on Truro City recently, protecting other clubs against costs incurred for travelling to cancelled or expunged matches. Their fixture this Saturday has been postponed, so their next fixture is at home to us a week on Saturday.

The Evo-Stik League Southern - News
Kettering Town - Board Statement
‘The Board is pleased to announce that Kettering Town FC has satisfied all the conditions placed on it by the League within the time frame set and, as a consequence, the registrations/transfer embargo has been lifted with effect from today, 1 November 2012. However, the Directors believe that it would be unrealistic for the Club to be in a position to sign sufficient players in time to field a team for this coming Saturday’s fixture at Barwell and, therefore, has reluctantly decided that the match be postponed. It is also recognised by the Board that the Club still has several other issues in need of urgent attention, not least the power supply to Nene Park, and will be closely monitoring its progress in the hope that all matters can be satisfactorily and speedily settled to enable the Club to retain its place in the League and complete all of its scheduled fixtures for the current season. The Board, nevertheless, is mindful of its responsibility to all of the League’s Member Clubs and, while wishing to be as helpful as possible to any Club experiencing difficulties of any kind, must ultimately make decisions that are within the bounds of League Rules.

Re: Kettering gone?
Interested to see how things pan out over the next nine days or so. The league have "reluctantly" postponed this weekend's fixture with Barwell, so they will have a little more time to pull together a squad of players in time to host us a week on Saturday - if that game goes ahead.
Of course, there's every possibility that one of the CVA creditors will toss another winding-up petition into the works, but that would almost certainly not be heard before that game, so assuming that Kettering can actually amass enough players to make a game a viable option, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that our game will go ahead. But who knows what kind of side we'll face?

Re: Kettering gone?
well they have have had their transfer and competiton embargo lifted but I believe that they are looking for a possible ground share with another club for the fixture with us.The electrity has been cut off at Nene Park and according to officials The electrical issues are quite complex and I’m led to believe there are only a few people in the country that can carry out the work that is needed.
So wait and see.
