PREDICTIONS - REDS VS WBA - BSC
I've updated the Prediction table, so let's keep it going!
Reds 0-4 WBA - Att 376
Reds 0-4 WBA - Att 376
Re: PREDICTIONS - REDS VS WBA - BSC
Alvechurch drew 0-0 with Blues last week, against young Blues team so I can see similar age group for Albion tonight.
Hence Reds 2-1
255
Deards plus a U21 player to score.

Reds 0 WBA 2
Att. 145
These senior cup games are generally poorly attended so I think some of the attendance predictions are rather optomistic. The club really should be offering reduced admission prices for these senior games, to try and entice a few more fans in.

Re: PREDICTIONS - REDS VS WBA - BSC
Oh well, I guess I was a little bit out with that prediction!
There was only ever one team that was going to win it. As one might expect, they were sharper, fitter, better organised etc. In the last ten minutes, they just ran away with it.
Why the hell did Hydey take off Cameron Jones? He was the best player out there and if we were going to score again, Jones would have been involved. Again, we still look rather light weight up front.

i think you were watching a differant game to most of us as that cameron jones was just a waste of a redditch shirt as he did nothing all game,he and moses garvy are a complete waste of time.i thought it was a decnt game until the last ten minutes when the reds seemed to tire

I didnt see your game sorry.....
The game I saw had Cameron doing ok down the right 1st half, and better 2nd half, and Garvs doing well both halves down the left.
I think Garvs had the harder task as I thought the WB right back was a class act.
I was very disappointed with the tactics 1st half.
Plan A: Hit it big to the #9
Plan B: See plan A.
I thought the #9 tonight was awful! decent enough from his eyebrows up, but that was all. His touch and distribution was awful, and when their keeper flapped it onto the bar 1st half it fell to him and he couldnt even shuffle feet quick enough to get a shot off.
Thought #10 wasnt much better either, and maybe his saving grace was infact #9!
So I do not think Garvs and Cammy were a waste tonight, but maybe the bright points.
I wish Hyde would learn more names though apart fro Aaron!
Took his goal well though!
Thought Carter should be pleased with his shift also. Good to see a youngster picking the ball up and running at people instead of blending in and just passing it on quickly.
Although their keeper did look dodgy once or twice, it was nice to see him rarely kick it out but pass instead. I cant remember 1 in the 1st half that he boomed up front, where as our keeper was the opposite BOOM BOOM BOOM! Im sure Hyde would of taken note though. I was disappointed in the lack of football we played. I'd heard about these great training sessions and stuff, and against a good side who will also let you play a bit yourselves when in possession, I was disappointed with how we kept, or not as the case was, the football. 1st half especially there was a gulf between the 2 teams when in possession.
Good crowd though for a cup game on a cold wet tuesday evening.
Fair play to the drummer boy in the Cedar Rd end. Just as I thought the whole ground was going to start snoring 2nd half, he got a few chants and songs going.
My prediction Saturday after watching tonight? DEFINITELY A REDDITCH WIN!

Off the pitch, does anyone know what was going on in the second half? It looked like a few people were being arrested.

Re: PREDICTIONS - REDS VS WBA - BSC
On the game, I was impressed overall.
Still seeing the hoofball tactic too many times for my liking. Not sure if it's lack of options or lack of confidence.
Thought Tommy had a steady game before coming off first half.
AMG lacks that bit of confidence, he'll show a great first touch but run out of ideas when running the ball down the wing. I think most players would have struggled against the RB tonight, his strength and pace were too much for AMG at times. Cracking goal though, and didn't stop running all game.
Hickman had a solid game, he won everything in the air.
4-1 was definitely harsh on us, and the fitness did seem to separate the sides in the final 10.

Re: PREDICTIONS - REDS VS WBA - BSC
Enjoyed that last night.
Looked like we tried to be 4-5-1 when defending and 4-4-2 when attacking.First half Osbourne (10) was no where near Deabill (9), everytime the ball was played up to Deabill there was no one within 15 yards of him. Looked better second half to be fair. Deabill did well to hold the ball up for OMG's goal. I'm with Allotmentender re Cameron Jones...contributes very little going forward and is lost when defending. Why does he stay so wide when the ball is on the other side of the pitch? Aaron Moses Garvey earned the nickname FIFA (12)last night for a failed trick when running down the wing when he had the ball. then a few more tricks came out..and to his credit a great goal!
WBA were class, the RB has played for the first team and I thought the 4 was quality too. They were great to watch.
Some kids were chucking stuff at the Stewards all game , bad language etc, hence they were removed!! Quite right too.
Team..1. Coleman 2. Knott 3. Robinson 4.Warmer 5. Hickman. 6.Grimes.7.Jones 8.Nolan.9.Deabill.10.Osbourne11. Fifa Moses Garvey : subs Wood,Bedford,Hylton,O'Callaghan, Carter

Re: PREDICTIONS - REDS VS WBA - BSC
Last night's game was good, apart from the weather!
Decent crowd, decent game. It was great to see some propper football from wba, getting the ball under control, looking up, knowing where eachother are, finding the right pass and very organised!
Their keeper was dodgy! I feel if we tested him, we'd have possibly got to extra time and i'd fancy us winning in penalties against him!
AMG... great goal, but sometimes he'll do something good, then other times he's mess it up...
We should learn alot from that game, fitness wise and football wise! 4-5-1 with a big man up front is a recipe for hoofball, it happened with matt smith! You need someone up there for the biggun to flick onto, else he's just isolated and as soon as the ball is down there's 4 defenders round him!
We should win our next league game really.

Spot on Joe.It did happen with Matt Smith. It's hoofball if there's no one within 20 yards of the big guy up top, if he flicks in on to a runner going past him, it's lovely football. Keegan and Toshack . Only Arsene, Redditch born and a few others will remember them!

Re: PREDICTIONS - REDS VS WBA - BSC
Not much to say other than the clubs first priority in these cases are the safety of the rest of the fans and stewards, the club called the police as some of the youths refused to leave. The Police were great and responded very quickly and dealt with the situation very quickly, Three youths were removed during this isolated one off incident and will receive life time bans. The club hopes this will serve as fair warning to anyone else who thinks they can behave in this way in the future.Redditchbluenose86 wrote:Kids were throwing things at stewards, and refused to leave.

I've seen videos. Hard to tell whether the ball goes inside or outside the jumpers for goalposts in 2D, but still quite entertaining.

Anyone else want to throw in great striking partnerships?
You'll struggle to beat Keegan and Toshack mind.
